MISSION STATEMENT
In keeping with our principles of charity, unity, fraternity, and patriotism, our mission shall be to provide Catholic inspired leadership, continuing education to our members about the Catholic Faith, and support to the clergy and parishes of our jurisdiction Councils, Assemblies, and Squire Circles.
It is important to promote a volunteer work ethic that emboldens successful fraternal actions emblematic of our founder the Venerable Fr. Michael J. McGivney. As part of this mission we must see that there is in place a means to evaluate the current needs of both the young people we are attempting to recruit and the older members who serve so well. We must give all our volunteer Knights appropriate orientation when they join, reasonable assignments, ongoing training, and have in place other necessary procedures to see that they are successful, recognized, and fulfilled in their volunteer activities.
In executing our mission, we must strategically plan, coordinate, and execute major operational, financial, administrative, and technological support functions to our Councils, Assemblies, Squire Circles, and religious community. We must strive for continual improvement in these actions and programs, to ensure the enhancement of the role of the Knights of Columbus as a Catholic family, fraternal, and service organization, and a patriotic model in communities throughout Virginia.
All these efforts shall be consistent with the Virginia Council By-Laws and the Supreme Council Charter Constitution and Laws, in the execution of programs and activities of our Order.
VISION
Our vision, in keeping with the vision shared by our founder, is to continue the proud tradition, established and maintained for over 100 years, of activities and works that exemplify to an exceptional degree, the principles of charity, unity, fraternity, and patriotism through strong, well organized, and functioning Councils, Assemblies, and Squire Circles throughout the jurisdiction of the Virginia State Council.
