The Virginia State Council has the unique opportunity to help out Supreme as it sponsors an exhibit at the 2010 National Scout Jamboree at Ft. A. P. Hill in Caroline County, VA. Supreme needs help setiing up and staffing the booth in the National Exhibits Area from Sunday July 25th to Wednesday August 4th. There will be some heavy lifting during setup, and the weather will be hot and humid. But mostly, the representatives from Supreme needs Knights willing to talk about the Knights of Columbus, the Squires, and our relationship with Scouting.
We need commitments early, so that we can arrange expedited check in through gate security. Every visitor or non-staff person will be charged ten dollars a vehicle to help defray costs on the environmental impact to Ft. A.P. Hill. For that, they get a commemorative patch. We still do not have confirmation as to whether or not volunteers from the Knights will have to pay to park. Be Prepared and bring the money. As non-paying staff, Knights manning the booth with Supreme are not included in the meal plans.
Plan to bring cash for use at lunch kiosks near the national exhibit tent. All that being said - The sooner we can get the names of interested volunteers into Supreme, the better. Thanks for taking this effort and getting it moving. I look forward to talking with all of you and answering any other questions this weekend.
