State Deputy's April Message
 

Brothers All,

 A Happy Easter to you and your Family. The quarter just completed was a very busy time for the State and the Order. We heard from our Hierarchy that enough is enough over the issue of our Religious Freedom. We learned our Supreme Chaplain will be the Archbishop of Baltimore, we conducted many Fish Fry’s St Patrick’s Parades, the State Free Throw, and many celebrated Founder’s Day. The month of March saw you rally with great success on new Members. Our Brothers increased by 126 while holding our losses to 23. We are now #22 in the Supreme Circle of Honor with 888 new Brothers to help us in our Charity and defending our faith.  This has been made possible by the tremendous efforts by 124 of 140 Councils.  Brothers, Virginia has always made the sprint to the finish with success. I pray that you will bring your energy and excitement of being a Virginia Knight to the Catholic men in your Parish and work place. Let’s us pledge to make April exceed March and May exceed April followed by a crowning achievement in June.  To keep the excitement up, I’m offering the State Meeting Award Incentive of funding (same as a Delegate) for April. Council that reached their membership quota in March will be included in the Incentive drawing. This will be 2 for a Large and 2 for a Small Council (total 4). The winning Council will select who they wish to award. Supreme Convention Incentive Award .If your Council achieves Star or Double Star by June 22, Each Council will be included in a drawing for a member of that Council to win an expenses covered (travel and hotel) ) to the Supreme Convention in Anaheim CA on Aug 7-9.

After Easter w have the State Bowling Tournament (14th), 3rdDegrees in Stafford (#7877) and Roanoke (28th). The Annual meeting in Williamsburg event registration package is on the Website. Each delegate or Brother should submit their package now and each person is responsible for making hotel reservations.  Worthy Grand Knights, your council members do extraordinary works of charity, helping many and often sacrificing time with family. Let them know they are special; submit those Service Program reports and Columbian Award (SP7). There are youth in our communities that look for a purpose, a chance to succeed. Give them that chance, submit a Young Man, Young Woman report they may go all the way.  Please to not let up now. The General Program Director and his staff of 1 are working very hard to insure that all of your reports are recorded. Please work closely and patiently with him to get through this rush period. We have each other for support. Don’t hesitate to let me know how I may be of service to you. Brothers continue to Live the Faith, the Love and the Dream. God Bless
