KOVAR gift to A Grace Place
July 22, 2015 - Here's a great example of the help you provide when you help raise money for KOVAR:
KOVAR, A Virginia Knights of Columbus charity, awarded a grant of $13,161 to A Grace Place Adult Care Center in Richmond, VA. The funds will be used to purchase two Hoyer lifts, devices which enable staff members to transfer clients with physical disabilities safely from one seat to another. A Grace Place serves over 200 clients, providing health services for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, age-related conditions, physical disabilities, Alzheimer’s and other dementias.
The grant was given in honor of Tom Giannasi, a member of the Father Robert W. McDonald Knights of Columbus Council (#395) in Henrico. Tom’s recipe for Brunswick Stew and coordination of brother Knights in its preparation and sale has greatly contributed to the council reaching its annual KOVAR goal, currently set at $9,000.
