Silver Rose Program

For over 55 years, the Knights of Columbus has sponsored Our Lady of Guadalupe Silver Rose Program to honor the Blessed Virgin under her title of Our Lady of Guadalupe, Patroness of America.

The Silver Rose symbolizes the commitment of the Knights of Columbus to restoring respect for the sanctity of human life from conception until death.

There are six silver roses traveling the western, central, and eastern corridors of North America, with Knights of Columbus from Canada to Mexico carrying the roses from destination to destination, and finally to the Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Monterrey, Mexico. Every stop along the route of the Silver Rose Pilgrimage is an occasion for prayer and spiritual renewal. Silver Rose poster. Silver Rose booklet.

The Knights of Virginia will receive the Silver Rose on March 6, 2016, and will relinquish it on April 3, to the Knights of North Carolina. We want to demonstrate the extraordinary work the Virginia Knights do each day in their devotion to the sanctity of life and hope to get at least half of Virginia’s Districts to participate.

To participate, please contact Church Activities Chairman Bob Dannemiller and please put Silver Rose in your subject, NO LATER THAN FEBRUARY 19, 2016.

Include the Council #, point-of-contact (name, e-mail, and phone), and a primary and alternate dates in March to receive the Silver Rose.

For planning purposes, use these tentative dates to receive the Silver Rose: northern Virginia, March 6-13; central/eastern Virginia, March 14-23; and southern/western Virginia, March 24-April 3). Based upon the information collected, a route plan will be compiled and communicated to Council’s point of contact by the end of February.
