February 6, 2016 - With all of the 2016 state officers leading the way into the chilly waters of the Atlantic Ocean, Virginia Knights of Columbus made a big showing in the annual Polar Plunge fundraiser for the Virginia Special Olympics.
Dozens of Knights - and officers' wives - got wet, but hundreds of Knights all around the state helped make the event a big success by sponsoring those who "took the plunge."
As of Saturday, February 6, more than $21,000 had been raised by the Virginia Knights, and the todal amount raised by all of the participating supporters topped $1 million.
Virginia Knights of Columbus is the second largest source of financial contributions benefiting those with intellectual disabilities in the Old Dominion.
