2016 Church Activity of the Year

Rectory Repairs and Painting

Kempsville Council 10515 in Virginia Beach answered the call when the pastor of St. Mark’s Catholic Church asked that the rectory built in 1973 be renovated by parishioners.  Major repair issues from carbon monoxide poisoning to external and internal structural damage to the need to replace the water heater were identified by a home inspector.  Several minor issues were identified as well.  As council members began their work, they identified even more issues.

In addition to the repairs, windows, walls, trim and doors were prepared and painted.  Wallpaper was removed, new window treatments and blinds were hung, new light fixtures were installed, and new bedding and towels were provided.
